... parce que l'amour est bleu !
September 4, 2024: It has been 25 years since my marriage to Leo. I can say that it was a successful union, truly blessed. Shortly after 21 years of marriage, my lover passed away. An untimely death, he left much sooner than I could have imagined.
It was a hard blow for me, a terrible shock. While this shock is gradually being absorbed, because of the difficulty I have in transforming the concreteness of everyday life, the solidity of our happiness, into a more "gaseous", ethereal state, I continue to draw conclusions that pacify me.
First of all, I want to emphasize the importance of faith, with a lot of prayer. Without this great support, I don't think I would have survived. I already had faith before, but I asked so much for it to grow and give me strength, that God answered my prayers, through the Virgin Mary, to whom I became more attached than ever, and I saw her loving and peace-making action come to our aid, in suffering.
I cannot, we cannot easily explain the mystery of this “Love/Suffering combination”, no matter how much we devote ourselves to studies.
I also had a lot of help from my family and friends, which was very important to me. In the middle of a pandemic, without being able to have contact with anyone, I benefited from psychological support online thanks to the tireless attention of my family in Brazil and Léo's family here. And when possible, I always had the face-to-face help of my "in-laws" and my friends in Quebec. I thank and will always thank all those who helped me and gave me peace of mind.
I am also immensely grateful to the country that welcomed our love, Canada, especially the province of Quebec, where I live.
And most especially, I am eternally grateful to Leo, for his love. It is a blue silver wedding, because l'amour est bleu ! Love is eternal in God, where we gather.
L'amour est plus bleu au plus haut des Cieux. And this is soothing.
