“… the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring
you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today
in the town of David a Saviour has been born to you; he is Christ, the Lord.
This will be a sign to you: You will
find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.” (Luke
2: 10-12)

Another troubled year in the
world is coming to the end. Once again, we are called to review our attitudes,
reprogram our lives. In a world where the transcendent is progressively moving
away from our thoughts, once again, Jesus knocks on the door, with His star
that wants to shine in our house.
Let us welcome St. Joseph
and the Virgin Mary in our hearts, in our homes, for the birth of the divine
Child Jesus, who has come down to us, assuming the human condition - the
greatest self-dispossession, the All-powerful event of indigence. Not even the
richest cradle of gold we could prepare would be enough to receive Him, our
King, I know, and it would be an attachment to the matter of this world; we can
offer our humble fervour, as animals in the stable did.
A prefiguration was there in
the fact that the baby Jesus came to the world in a stable and was placed in a
manger. The manger is the place where we put the food for the animals. We are nothing more than animals in a great stable and He came to be
our most special Food, in the Eucharist, so that we may have Eternal Life.
Let us join the great throng
of the hosts of heaven, praising God with the words: “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom
his favour rests.” (Luke 2: 14)
Merry Christmas to everyone!
