God is love

"God is love. But love requires both a subject and an object - a giver and a receiver. Of course, God's love is poured out for us, the pinnacle of His creation. But while that fact would justify the statement "God loves", it doesn't fully explain the deeper claim that God is love." - Scott Hahn [1], in The First Society

I copied the above thought from the Facebook page of Scott Hahn, a writer and professor of Biblical Theology. A quick idea of his biography is at the end of this text [1]. I follow his Facebook page (click here to see), he posts interesting topics, thought provoking, like this one.

Reflecting on this, I concluded that the Love of God, as well as His Goodness ("only God is good" - said by Jesus) are not within the reach of our understanding. They are absolute features. We don't know what it is, everything about us is relative. We are not good, nor are we Love, in its entirety.

But the same author says: "God's kindness, God's mercy, and God's care are made manifest in the world through our love, our kindness, our mercy, and our care." - Scott Hahn [1] in Hope to Die...

Indeed, God has been "training" us, helping us to make good choices, going so far as to enter our History, to draw us to Him, viscerally. Through Jesus, yes, we have the manifestation of Him in person, teaching us His love, His goodness, His mercy, and His care.

Like animals being "domesticated", so to speak, for Life in the Father's House, we have been receiving enormous doses of kindness and love, since the beginnings of human evolution, and we are developing ourselves, despite our limitations. Our soul has something supernatural and responds to commands that come from "High", although the "free will" factor does not always help and make us go back.

Not all peoples understood well where the "intuition" touching them comes from, there are interpretations, sometimes sinuous. But we are all equally loved by God. Our difficulty - of all of us - is to accept this Love, with humility, and to give feedback conveniently, for our own good, using the famous free will, which is essential.

But there is nothing that Divine Mercy cannot help... Yes, I believe in it.

For the sake of His sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world.

~~~~~~~
Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful.
And kindle in them the fire of your love.
Send forth your Spirit and they shall be created.
And you will renew the face of the earth.
Lord,
by the light of the Holy Spirit
you have taught the hearts of your faithful.
In the same Spirit
help us to relish what is right
and always rejoice in your consolation.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
