I want to pay tribute to unknown people, whose names we don't even know, but, through their work and actions in the world, make our lives better, safer, more pleasant, more serene. I have chosen the unknown people who build, without diminishing their neighbour.
Let's pay tribute to the unknown who sings on the radio and offers us moments of pleasure. To the workers who keep us connected to electricity and to communication. Those who join us to claim more promising days. To the workers at all levels of civil construction who design and build safe roads and buildings. To those who beautify the world. Those who feed us. To the workers in the field of health, in the field of education who, incognito in the middle of the crowd, take care of goods so precious to us. To those who come to our aid. Those who defend us from injustice, to those who save us from danger. Those who help us on the invisible paths of Life. Those who write to feed us with lessons and enchantments.
Finally, to all of us who are trying to do the best we can, let's rejoice in our efforts, again this ending year, and let's try to do even more next year.
