Another church sold in the province of Quebec [1]. It is more and more frequent. This news touched me to the heart, because it is our Great Love which is being taken away from our lives, the churches emptied and sold. The parish priest will be responsible for the desacralization, he must bring the Blessed Sacrament to another church. Very sad.
I could not help but make the comparison with the preparation of my move. It made me sad. I am too emotional in this phase of mourning, emptying our “sanctuary of love”, the house where we have lived together for over 21 years, my husband and me. I am also desacralizing our home. It hurts my heart to see each thing going away . Even if it is to donate to those in need, or to whom it will be more useful, this activity makes me very distressed.
Our human love, in this world, although being natural, also has something sublime, sacred, supernatural, in the image and likeness of the infinite Love of God. It comes from Him.
According to the mentioned canon [2], if the church can no longer be used for divine worship, then it is better to protect the Blessed Sacrament by transferring it to another church. Likewise, I protect our love, giving a humanitarian destiny to my husband's personal belongings and the items in our house.
Now, I am the “tabernacle” of our love, in this world; I carry this treasure in my heart. Thanks to Rowena, Inez, JC, JEduardo and Maria AB, who helped me welcome the sadness that struck me with this news, in this heartwarming thought. Thank you to all who have communicated with me, in one way or another, in response to my anxieties, I'm not feeling alone on this journey.
